District operates on a fiscal year budgetary system. District funding is primarily provided
through permit fees paid by businesses and industries that emit air pollution and from a clean air surchage
imposed on all vehicles registered within the District.
District budget is revised annually in the Spring of each year, and pursuant to the requirements of Health and
Safety Code Section 40131, a public notice and a 30-day public comment period is held to allow the
public to opportunity to comment on proposed budgets. Please check the
