Burn Permits:
Fire Training
There are numerous fire protection agencies, both volunteer and full time, within the AQMD tri-county jurisdiction. When these organizations conduct training exercises involving the open burning of vegetation, structures,or other materials, a fire training burn permit is required. Having obtained the proper burn permit, the fire agency contacts the AQMD within the 24 hour period before the proposed training to obtain a burn authorization number.
Are there additional requirements?
Whenever a building is to be demolished, renovated, or burned for fire training purposes, an asbestos demolition / renovation notification form must be filled out and submitted to the AQMD in order to comply with the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants. If asbestos abatement is to occur, notification forms must be received by the AQMD at least 10 working days prior to commencement of removal ( instructions and forms ).
How much will the permit cost?
No fee is required.
